I’m a lettering and pen novice, but I love learning simple designs that look fantastic. I mentioned in another post that I use these flower wreaths to spruce up (pun intended!) my plain kraft Traveler’s Notebook inserts. Here are the inserts I decorated:
And they’re so easy to make! Follow along and see how simple it is.
- Something round to trace (I used a coaster)
- A pencil
- An eraser, preferably putty but a higher end non putty will work
- A pen, I used my Faber-Castell XS.
First, trace your circle. I outlined each element for you in their order. All you want to do is make sure your elements loosely follow the circle. Check out the process with each element:
See how uneven and sporadic my leaves are? The great thing about this wreath is that it doesn’t need to be perfect to still look amazing at the end!
I like to do these elements every other “leaf,” but it’s totally up to you.
The roses are my favorite.
Hopefully, you can see the stippling (dots) on your screen. Since I used a very fine pen, it’s a little harder to see. Oops!
Erase the circle you traced. If you’re using a putty erase, remember to lift up with the erase instead of rubbing the page.
Then you can practice your lettering!
I hope this was easy for you, I’d love to see what you do in the comments!
